1 Scope of this Privacy Policy

This is our privacy policy for the purpose of Australia’s privacy laws. Please note that for use of individual Lyoness websites, particularly those for different countries, additional Privacy Rules may also apply.


2 Information we may collect from you

We may collect and process the following personal information about you:

  • Personal information that you give to us including when filling in forms on our website http://www.lyoness.net/au/. For example, information you give us at the time of first registering to use our website or becoming a Lyoness member, subscribing to our service, sending us correspondence or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you enter a competition or promotion sponsored by Lyoness or if you contact us about our website.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence or communication.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
  • Details of transactions you carry out through our website and of the fulfilment of your orders.
  • Details of your visits to our website including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise.
  • Information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers and suppliers. This is statistical data about our users‘ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

Lyoness is an international corporation, our business activities, management structure and our technical infrastructure exceed beyond national borders. We may also transmit if and where necessary your personal information to selected trusted partner companies of Lyoness in order to execute specific functions (e.g. mailings and direct advertising, operation of hotlines, processing transactions). All these partners have agreed to use your personal information only for each specific purpose and in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Your personal information may also be disclosed to third parties if we are required or authorised by law to disclose personal information or where the disclosure is otherwise consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and any other applicable law.

4 Logging onto our Website

You can use a portion of our website without disclosing any personal information. We also record in this case certain information provided to us by your web browser in connection with the use of our website (e.g. content of gathered information, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, type of web browser, language and the domain page that you came to us from), to gather statistical data regarding the use and efficiency of our website and to collect and adapt these depending on the needs of our users. We log access to our website and downloads of files from all websites.

5 Cookies and Web beacons

Our websites use cookies, which are small text files that are stored on your computer and can be accessed there again when you revisit our website. Cookies are used to enable you to register for our services and to personalise the website for you.

For purchases through one of our Online shops, we set a cookie with your Member ID so we can book the purchase onto your account. When purchasing any goods or services through one of our Loyalty Merchants, the website notifes us of the sales transacted using a one-pixel graphic and a cookie.

For webtracking (see point 6) we set our tracking server provider Google Analytics Cookies, to track your online activities. This evaluation is anonymous.

In some instances, the information collected and stored by cookies on this Website may constitute personal information. Any such personal information will be dealt with as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

You can set your web browser to reject all or some of our cookies. Please note that you cannot use all of the features on our website if you do not accept cookies. As previously stated, the cookie technology is needed to register your online purchases and credit the Cashback owed to you.

Our websites may contain so called web beacons, these are small, invisible graphics that help us to identify interaction with our website, set up cookies or determine the number of visitors. Web beacons or specially coded links in our newsletters and marketing emails are built in to determine whether the messages have been read or the links have been clicked on, so that we can evaluate the success of our mailings using statistical data.

6 Webtracking

Webtracking provides us with important information about the behaviour of users on our website and enables us to perform an effective review of our online activities. The evaluation is done anonymously, it is not traceable to you. This website uses Google Analytics, a web analyst provider of Google Inc. (Google). Google Analytics also uses cookies, that are stored on your computer and allows an analysis of the use of the website. The information generated through the cookie regarding your use of the website (including your IP address) will be stored on a server of Google in the USA. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for website operators and to provide other site usage and internet related services. Google will not provide this information to third parties, unless required by law or if third parties process this data on Google’s behalf. Google will under no circumstances associate your IP address with other data stored in conjunction by Google. We have Google Analytics on the code “_anonymizeIP();“ enhanced, to ensure anonymous collection of IP addresses and to exclude identification of any directly related person.


7 Newsletter

If you would like to receive one of our newsletters with website updates, we require a valid e-mail address and information that will allow us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address, or that its owner agrees to receive the newsletter. No other data will be collected. Your permission to let us save this information and your email address to the extent that we need for the newsletter can always be modified in your Lyoness Cockpit under Personal Settings or by cancelling your subscription (link to unsubscribe). Alternatively, you can unsubscribe to the newsletters via the link provided at the bottom of emails from Lyoness Australia.


8 Competitions

By participating in competitions you expressly agree that Lyoness Australia Pty Limited during the course of the competition has access to your personal information (e.g. name, date of birth, address, telephone number, e-mail address) for promotional and advertising purposes and can store this information for future marketing purposes within the Lyoness Group. You can revoke this consent at any time by sending a written request to office@lyoness.com.au. For some competitions we can specify specific conditions of use that may supplement or modify the conditions mentioned here.

Our website may contain links to websites of third parties. We influence neither the design of these websites nor their handling of personal information.
