12/07/2013There is a lot happening in the current projects: A computer room has been installed in the San Roque Elementary School, the project in the Centrum Dorka has been extended for the third time, in Brazil the tailoring Workshops collaborated with the local Primary School, the Escuela Lyoness is fully operational and in the Holy Trinity School, the end of term holidays signify the start of exams for a lot of the pupils.
There were a lot of new things for the pupils in the San Roque Elementary School in the Philippines. The pupils went on an excursion for the first time since the school was built. They showed a lot of enthusiasm as they were taken to the “Monopolo Bird and Marine Sanctuary”, the Maasin Zoo and the Maasin City Mall. Thanks to the generous support given by Antal Gergic and Alexander Kiš, the school now has a computer room and the CFF has provided new books for the school library.
The cooperation with the Centrum Dorka in Kosice, Slovakia has started for the third year running. This year the favoured courses such as the Homework Club, the Getting Ahead Groups and the cooking courses are being offered again. A sewing course and occupational therapy sessions have been added to the programme.
In Parajuru in Brazil, the planned collaboration with the local Primary School took place. The children spent a day with the ladies in the Workshops, where they watched how purses are made out of the labels they had collected from plastic bottles. At the end of it all there was a drawing competition, where all of the children received coloured pencils from Jolly.
The Escuela Lyoness in Honduras is fully operational following a successful test period. It started with a preschool class and a first class and all 66 children are attending regularly, with hardly any absentees.
The term holidays came to an end for the Holy Trinity School in Nigeria at the beginning of June. For a lot of the pupils this is the start of the exams. The pupils still came back to school full of enthusiasm.
