Greenfinity builds wells in the dry Bahia region of Brazil

30/01/2014
It is mainly large soya producers, who buy up land in large parts of Brazil. This is why poor farmers frequently lose their land. Many of them have been forced to move to the dry and barren Bahia region in North East Brazil where they do not have enough water to survive on or to provide for their animals, which are their livelihood.

Since December 2013, Greenfinity has been supporting the Styrian ‟Verein für Quellen & Hilfsprojekteˮ (Association for springs and aid projects), who have discovered that there is enough ground water in the area to help improve the chances of survival for the people there. Thus, they are in the process of quickly constructing a number of crude wells.

Greenfinity
is happy to support the association, by financing the construction of seven more wells. The first one has just been completed. One well provides enough water for ten families. The largest of the seven wells is approx. 100 metres deep, and will soon provide water for a whole hospital in the Bahia region.

Lyoness Members can help provide water and improve the livelihood of the people living in the Bahia area.
